Today I started a project with one of my best friends. We decided it would be a fun idea to take some shots with our cameras of yoga and dance poses in all different places. This was kind of a spontaneous, unplanned idea that we thought of while walking along the Great Swamp this morning, Initially we were there trying to bird watch, but didn't have much luck finding anything interesting. The area was quiet, considering it was pretty early in the morning, except for the occasional bird chirp and fly buzzing in your ear. Liv said, "We could take a few yoga and dance pics since we're not seeing anything." I mean why not? So we skimped down to our sports bras and started contorting ourselves in the middle of the boardwalk. I think we got some pretty good shots for our start of the project. Here are some of my yoga shots taken at the Great Swamp.
Hello again. Today I decided I would post the link to my Facebook page so that all of my song covers can be shared. I would post the videos on here, but the site doesn't allow it, so below is my link, enjoy :) https://www.facebook.com/julia.teters Hello there dear reader, my name is Julia. You're probably sitting there staring at your computer screen ready to look at yet another page of cupcake recipes and all natural facial masks and while I intend to do so, I also intend on hoping to share a bit about my bizarre self with you. Assuming you find what I have to say even mildly interesting that's besides the point. I would hope that you can not only read what I have to say, but relate in some ways as well. To feel like maybe you aren't the only person on the planet that feels this way, I'd love to hear your similar stories. To start I should probably share a bit about myself. For starters I am a 20 year old girl who grew up in a mile square town. Parents are divorced, I have one younger brother, and while I decipher what I am doing in terms of school next year I continue to stay passionate about the things I love most about life. What might these things be? Anything creative- art, music, yoga, writing- I like to call myself a "hobby whore". I am one of those people that is always moving, always using what I find inspiring to keep me going throughout the day. I like to write my own music and cover songs for fun, as well as engage in any type of artistic medium. I also teach yoga and continue to find joy in helping others with their specific needs. But what really caused me to start this blog? Where did the real inspiration come from? In the beginning of the year I was admitted into an outpatient program for mental health because of major depression, anxiety, and severe OCD. What's an outpatient program? It's a group center where other young adults, like myself, meet three times a week for group therapy regarding all kinds of mental health. About two weeks after finishing this program I had a breakdown and was admitted into an inpatient program for a few days. Inpatient is basically where they send you when they feel like you may be a danger to yourself, otherwise a scary hospital where you can't have your phone and you can't leave without a doctor's permission. Where do I stand now in terms of all this? Back in an outpatient program where I continue to seek help. Why am I telling you, dear stranger, all of this personal information? It's what exactly inspired me to start this blog in the first place. A place where I can share what I feel with others, not for their pity, but to seek others that may have experienced, experience, or have some of the same issues that I currently deal with. There's no reason why we shouldn't express our depression, anger, anxiety, and frustration in a creative way, a way that's not completely damaging to ourselves. So, now that you know a bit about me and what inspires me to keep this blog alive I can start to create posts that, yes may include a craft or two, but also include my stories, feelings, and experiences as well. I hope to be posting soon, but until then stay creative ya'lllll and have a lovely day:D |
